Mandatory Core Courses

Module 1

It includes 7 compulsory Fundamental Subjects, which add up to a total of 35 ECTS.

  • Cellular Neurobiology. Physiology of Excitable Membranes (6 ECTS; First Semester)

    Theoretical-practical study of neuronal and glial cell biology, and the mechanisms of excitability of their membranes.

  • Basic Neuroscience Course: The Mammalian Nervous System (6 ECTS; First Semester)

    Theoretical-practical study of the basic structural and functional organization of the different regions of the nervous system.

  • Neuroscience Research Methods (4 ECTS; First Semester)

    Study of the principles, applications and limitations of the methods and instruments used for research on the nervous system.

  • Developmental Neurobiology (4 ECTS; First Semester)

    Theoretical-practical study of the main facts of the development of the nervous system from the earliest stages to the establishment of pathways and connections.

  • Systems Neuroscience (6 ECTS; Second Semester)

    Theoretical-practical study of the functional systems of the central nervous system.

  • Introduction to Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (5 ECTS; Second Semester)

    Theoretical-practical study of the cognitive and affective processes of human beings.

  • Computational Neuroscience (4 ECTS; Second Semester)

    Theoretical-practical study of the principles of neural computing of electrical signals at different scales, as well as the mathematical and computer tools for their analysis.
